Hi, I'm Clay
A Proud Medford Resident, Committed to Our Future
In 1985, my family moved to Medford from Idaho. I was ten years old, and my father had just started a job with Gordon Trucking. My mother, ever resilient, began as a server at King Wah before earning her Commercial Driver’s License and joining my dad on the road. Growing up in Medford, I attended our public schools, played in our local parks, and worked for homegrown Medford businesses. It didn’t take long for Medford to become home, and I’m proud to say it still is.
Family, Resilience, and Hard Work
For the past 22 years, my girlfriend Robin and I have raised her daughter, Lexie, watching her grow into an incredible person who loves unconditionally and sees the good in everyone. Like many families in Medford, we come from humble beginnings. Neither Robin nor I grew up in wealth, but we’ve worked hard for everything we’ve built. That resilience—developed in childhood—became the foundation for our success, and we believe in sharing that success with the people we love and the community we call home.
Committed to Medford’s Growth and Downtown Vitality
Over the last 25 years, Robin and I have worked for numerous businesses, gaining experience and understanding in what makes a community thrive. In 2003, we were fortunate to purchase The Gypsy Blues Bar, located in downtown Medford. Running this business has given me a front-row seat to the heart of our city, and I am deeply committed to the vitality of our downtown. Its success belongs not just to the business owners, but to everyone—residents and visitors alike.
Public Service and Community Involvement
As a small business owner, I’ve gained a unique perspective on how public policy affects businesses and the wider community. This awareness inspired me to engage more deeply in the political process—first as a voter, and later, as an elected City Councilor. I am now seeking the office of mayor because I believe Medford’s best days are ahead of us, and I want to continue serving this amazing community that has given me so much.
